Hello there! We’re excited about connecting with you: pipeline engineers, technical directors (TDs), developers, technical artists like you, Flow Production Tracking (Flow PT) technicians… For those who still don’t know our ADN team, allow us to introduce ourselves…
This is the first article in our ADN Articles series, published both on blog.autodesk.io and in the Flow PT community forum, so you can follow us wherever you prefer.
Who are we?
We are the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) team, and more specifically the team focusing on the Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry. For many years, our team has been committed to enhancing the development experience by providing valuable resources for those in the community developing tools with Autodesk APIs, SDKs, Toolkits and cloud services. We are Developer Advocates, who are usually helping customers with troubleshooting and testing many aspects of the technology in our ecosystem.
What do we do?
Autodesk has many APIs, SDKs and tools… take a look at the APS documentation portal to see a really long list of APIs and services, and use the filters to navigate through them. We have been delivering content, samples, tutorials and articles on many of those areas. We also support many customers with the Maya API, 3ds Max API, MotionBuilder, the FBX SDK, and many other software products from the Manufacturing and Construction industries.
On the APS blog you can see a sample of the articles we usually write about Autodesk Platform Services: best practices, new features, and industry trends. We publish step-by-step guides to help you master Autodesk software and cloud APIs, plus ready-to-use examples that can be integrated into your projects.
We are also quite active in meetups, bootcamps and events. Take a look at the APS community events page and decide if you want to join us. Our last two Autodesk DevCon Europe events were held in Amsterdam (2025 and 2026), and they were a blast. The next DevCon will be in Barcelona in April 2027. We hope to see you there!
What would we like to share?
Some years ago our team (ADN) started taking a closer look at Flow PT. First by learning and reviewing the documentation. At the same time, we have been testing, answering questions, and troubleshooting technical cases. And now we are ready to share some of our experiences with the community!
Note that we (ADN) do not support how to use the product itself. For that you have the Flow PT user documentation, and you can get support in the community forum or through Autodesk Customer Support, where our great colleagues can help further if needed. We mainly focus on how to program with the Flow PT APIs and the Toolkit. The main documentation is in the Flow PT developer documentation.
Our intention is to share what we know by writing blog articles and forum posts. It is part of our continuous
effort to support API and Toolkit-related programming questions and contribute to this rich community.
On this blog you will find our articles in the
Flow Production Tracking category, and in the
community forum we tag them with adn-articles, so they are easy to filter.
We plan to focus on API-related topics, including:
- Common Workflow Implementations, with instructions on how to use our APIs for your production needs.
- Troubleshooting Guides with solutions to common technical challenges, to help you overcome obstacles efficiently.
- Research Insights: updates and findings from our ongoing research that may benefit your projects and workflows.
We hope these resources become valuable to you. This is only the first article in the series, so stay tuned!
Warm regards,
ADN Team, Sergio Leon, Principal Developer Advocate
